Smart Money for Claude

The Smart Money connector lets Claude record transactions and answer questions about your money using the same accounts, categories and history you see in the app.

What you can ask

  • «Record 15 for a taxi yesterday from Chase»
  • «How much did I spend on food this month?»
  • «Which merchants took the most money over the last 90 days?»
  • «Post the interest on my deposits»
  • «Here are three notifications from my bank — add them»

What you need

A Smart Money account on smart-money.ink with an active subscription or free trial.

Connect in Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find Smart Money in the directory, or choose “Add custom connector” and enter the URL below.
  3. Press Connect, sign in to Smart Money with Google or email and press “Allow access”.

  • list_accounts — Accounts with current balances and deposit rates (reads)

  • update_category — Renames a category or changes its icon and colour (changes)
  • delete_category — Deletes a category no transaction uses (changes)
  • list_tags — Tags with their IDs and usage (reads)

  • update_tag — Renames a tag or changes its colour (changes)
  • delete_tag — Deletes a tag; it stays on past transactions (changes)
  • list_budgets — Budgets with spending, remainder and projection (reads)
  • create_budget — Creates a weekly, monthly or yearly budget (adds)
  • update_budget — Edits a budget (changes)
  • delete_budget — Deletes a budget (changes)

What it cannot do

The connector never moves money and never connects to a bank. It does not delete an account or a category that transactions still use, so history never loses its account or category. Tools that add data are marked as write tools and tools that edit or delete as destructive, so the assistant asks before using them unless you allow it.

Disconnect
